Me, Mom & Roxie
Today was a free day. No breeding and nothing planned. We wanted to go wine tasting but as it turns out, not many are open on Mondays. So after going through all of the suggestions from Facebook friends on stuff to do, I decided to take Mom to the rose garden. I didn’t tell her where we were going just to wear a sweatshirt and tennies.
We arrived at the Portland Rose Garden to find that we were too early (by a couple months) to see ANY roses, however the daffodils were plentiful! Actually, they are all over Oregon!
What’s up with that? Are people planting them? They seem to grow wild but aren’t they bulbs not seeds? They are really beautiful and next to roses, are mom’s favorites.
Roxie is supposed to be resting, but she was getting very restless in her crate so we took her with us. Mom has a bad knee so between that and trying to keep Roxie calm and rested, our walk through the rose garden was slow and leisurely. When Mom was tired, we headed back. Roxie was allowed to stop and smell the flowers, but no running ammuck.

Once we were finished exploring the garden and taking pictures, we were off to find something else to do. We ended up at a movie theater and saw The Bounty Hunter with Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. Cute movie. Good for a matinee. Afterwards, we were ready for some dinner and were in search of a steakhouse. Thanks to my iPhone, I found several in the area but rather than spending $$ on just an OK steak, we decided to go for the gold and spend $$$ on a fabulous steak from Mortons Steakhouse. They never fail to satisfy my craving for a filet mignon… and to empty my pocketbook :). But hey, with free breakfast at the motel and cheese and crackers to snack on, we saved lots of money on dining out for this trip.
So now, we are back at the hotel, I’m blogging and mom is packing up. We leave at 7:30am for one last breeding at 8:00 then it’s time to head home. It’ll be a looonnnnngggg Tuesday as I have to drop Mom off at home then continue on to Sacramento. Work calls for Wednesday.
So wish us luck for a successful breeding tomorrow! Oh, and for those still wondering who Mr. Right is… Liz should have his info added within the next couple of days and I will be sure to let you know.
