Day 38 Baby Bumpin’

Day 38

There it is!! You can see it finally! She’s bumpin’!!! Ok, if you don’t see it, look for the 3rd teat towards her rear, that’s it! That little pooch wasn’t there last week. She’s definitely growing now. You can see it a little better in this picture of her sitting down. Her teats are definitely filling out, but there’s nothing in them. The fact that they are droopy is evidence that she continue to nurse when they were too old and they would latch onto her while she was standing and hang off of her. Poor Roxie. Sorry, not a good belly shot last week. I couldn’t get her to roll over! I’ll try again this week.

So you might notice that the photos in today’s blog post are clearly NOT at my house. We were away this weekend camping on the north coast. It was a beautiful weekend and she loves camping. I tried to sit down and write, but the sun and ocean was calling and I just couldn’t ignore it!

Here is another photo of my girl hangin’ out on the rocks of the ocean. It was a calm day on the beach. While Roxie loves to swim, she doesn’t like the salt water, so while she will run in it and I can trick her into going to get the stick once, she won’t go again!

Day 41

Day 32 The development of the embryo remains modest, but as from the 30th day, it becomes quite clear.

Now we’re in the foetal stage The 35th day marks the end of embryogenesis, the first phase of gestation. The organs are all now beginning to form and we may now talk about foetuses even though their development is not complete. It is during this foetal phase (and in particular as from the 40th day) that almost three quarters of the of the puppies’ birth weights acquired by the foetuses.

Your bitch’s requirements are changing As from the 5th week the foetuses’ development speeds up. They gain weight and their skeleton mineralises. Your bitch’s nutritional requirements will change, as she now requires a diet with higher energy, protein and mineral content. This might seem contradictory, but you may very well observe a drop in her appetite.
