We are officially over the half way point!  Only a few more weeks to go.  In looking at the Day 43 photo compared to the Day 43 photo from last year, I can definitely see a difference in the smaller litter.

Not much happening around here.  Her energy level is the same and she’s happy and healthy.  She’s completely on puppy food now along with her prenatal vitamin, hard boiled egg and NuVet supplement.  Here is this week’s belly shot.  You can see her sides rounding out and getting much fuller.  It was much easier to get her to roll over for me last night.  It’s nice when she’s not selfish with the belly rubs.

Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll start digging out my checklists and shopping for remaining supplies, cleaning out the whelping box and deciding where to put it.  I’ll be scheduling my puppy sitters and time off from work.  But that’s the “work” part of breeding.  The fun parts are coming too; feeling the babies moving inside, seeing them move and roll around inside.  I’ll be sure to take some video so you can see too!

In the meantime… here’s what’s happening on the INSIDE:

Day 45  Foetuses The first hairs appear, the skeleton ossifies. The coat is one of the last organs to develop, as is the skeleton which only begins to ossify in the final third of gestation.
