Day 7 – a Week Already?
Gosh, has it already been a week? I guess it has! The puppies are doing very well and are growing like weeds. They are approaching the 2lb mark as of tonight and I’m sure will surpass it within the next couple of days. Roxie is still doing well although her loyalties are being challenged daily. She still doesn’t know if she prefers to be with me or the babies. In order to help her with her dilema, I brought one of the kiddie pools into the dining area and lined it with blankets and a heater. I brought the babies out hoping that Roxie would feel better about being with them AND me. After some encouragement, it worked. Although I have to be careful when I leave the room, if they are all dining at the buffet and I leave the room, she will get up and following me. If you can picture 8-10 leaches still hanging on as she leaves the box and hear the SLURP sound as the fall off the teat and then see the disappointment in their faces when they realize the lunch cart has moved one. Poor babies.
We continue to give each baby cuddles every day and we have now worked in the Bio-Sensor stimulation during cuddle time. This next week will begin visiting hours. Humans of all sizes are welcome to come by. Even though they are still little and don’t do much, they are so cute and you have to experience this age at least once. You can still come back to see them when they are bigger and more playful. Just let me know when you want to come. I’m home most days.
Here’s a video I took of little black boy snoozing on my lap alongside Mama. Ever wonder what baby Weims dream of since they can’t see or hear??
Coming up in week two, more socialization, first real steps, eyes opening, car rides, and exploring new parts of the house (already working on that).
That’s all for now! New photos have been added including individual Week Old photos.
