3/10/10 – Roxie’s Adventure to Motherhood

Baby Roxie
As many of you know, when we brought Roxie home almost three years ago from Liz of Fairhaven Weimaraners , she came with a puppy contract and lots of conditions all of
which would eventually (if all goes well) lead to her being bred after 2 years of age. Tate and I spent the first two years attending IABCA conformation shows, field training and testing for Junior Hunter. Roxie achieved her Junior Hunter title in May of 2008 and International Championship for conformation in September of 2008. If you have kept up for the last year, I have continued Roxie’s field training and have been working with her to earn her senior hunter title. As of now, she has one of four legs toward that title. But it seems that we need to take a break because…

The time has come for Roxie to concentrate on becoming a mother. Roxie is primed and ready! Liz is working hard to find a suitable mate for Miss Roxie. She has some options and is currently weighing those options. The time line is that Roxie will be bred March 21st-23rd and if all goes well, 63 days later (late May), we will have PUPPIES!!!
For those wondering, Roxie is being bred by Liz Fairlee of Fairhaven Weimaraners, not me personally. Liz is an an experienced and reputable Weimaraner breeder. Liz is responsible for choosing the stud as well as finding homes for the puppies. She has a pretty long waiting list so far but is mainly looking for show/field homes.

I plan to be there every step of the way for Roxie as well as be ready to “catch” on delivery day. Liz is gonna get sick of me :). I will be blogging about Roxie’s journey before, during and after motherhood so be sure to check back regularly or subscribe to get email updates to follow along and see all the photos and video!
